The news corporate media won't touch, stories from the front lines of our movements to fight and build and just a dash of spoken word, visual art and snark. Blend and enjoy.

This week on Act Out! tempting tho it may be to ignore all things real and political for the next few days, hiding behind cranberry sauce and turkey legs won't change the ever-widening and gaping abyss before us. Dive in with us as we survey our grotesquely top-heavy economy and where people like you and I stand today.

Next up, some headlines from Scotland to Syria to why oil and gas are racist.

And finally, NAFTA renegotiations plus an expert take on what's to come and what we can do about it.

This week on Act Out!

A vehemently anti-woman, authoritarian theocratic regime was recently awarded a seat at the UN women's rights table - so we're taking the opportunity to really dig into the UN and see whether or not their work for human rights – really works.

Next up, May 10th is the anniversary of a landmark legal decision that set a precedent for oligarchical rule in the US. Kaitlin Sopoci-Belknap of Move to Amend joins us to talk history and the present fight to end corporate personhood rights.

This week:

Memorial Day got us thinking – some of the biggest issues facing our country are forgotten once the cameras switch off. But our ADD news cycle only makes us more vulnerable to repeat disasters like, for example, the Flint Michigan Water Crisis. So let's revisit Flint – not only for the sake of water but for the sake of the bigger picture of how our system let this happen, even pushed for it to happen – in Flint and elsewhere.

Next up, access to fresh water is becoming more and more dire and Nestle – wants to make sure your thirst doesn't get in the way of its profits.

And finally, a memorial look at the TPP, the People’s Impact Report and what’s next.

But first – strike the Flint.

This week – it's not our fault. What?? – anything, just pick an issue, a problem, a bombing, a war crime – totally not our fault – especially that hospital thing. What's really going on in Afghanistan and what are we doing besides bombing hospitals? Next up, one of the empire's most worthy adversaries, Abby Martin talks about her new show, corporate media and artistic outlets. And finally, I'll probably get shot for saying this but the NRA is more than worthy of a low life scum award. But first, it's just another Monday in the machine.
